Full Form Of ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization

ISRO FULL FORM

The Indian Space Research Organization is the space agency of the Government of India and is headquartered in the city of Bengaluru.  Its vision is to "use space technology for national development while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration".  The Indian National Space Research Council (INCOSPAR) was established in 1962 under Jawaharlal Nehru under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).  , With the insistence of scientist Vikram Sarabhai, is recognizing the need in space research.  INCOSPAR grew up and became ISRO in 1969 under DAE.  In 1972, the Government of India established a Space Commission and the Department of Space (DOS), bringing ISRO under DOS.  Thus the establishment of ISRO institutionalized space research activities in India.  It is managed by DoS, which reports to the Prime Minister of India.

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is a government of India agency charged with research and development of the Army based in New Delhi, India.  It was formed in 1958 by the Directorate of Technical Development and Production of Indian Ordnance Factories with the merger of the Technical Development Establishment and the Defense Science Organization.  It is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defense, Government of India.
